The AGM is a very important part of the running of any club, so it is important that as many members as possible attend in order to keep everyone updated regarding how the club is run and managed. So please, keep this date free and your attendance at same would be very much appreciated. If anyone has an interest in joining the committee or suggestions for the club, going forward, please do bring them to a member of the committee a few weeks (if possible) beforehand. Many thanks.
Thu 27 Apr 2023 - John Kelly is our last Guest Speaker of the Season
We are delighted that John Kelly from Co Clare is able to be our last Guest Speaker for the 2022-2023 Season - I'm sure some of you are aware of his work but do please have a look into his website - https://www.johnkellyphotography.ie/ - it will be a real treat. Tonight we have our local photographer Mike Shaugnessy judging our last competition of the 2022-2023 Season our digital image "Nature" competition.
Thu 13 Apr 2023 - Judging for Connemara Print by Michael McLoughlin - Entries due "Nature"
Michael McLoughlin is our judge tonight for the Connemara Print. Entries due by Sunday the 16th, for the last of our competitions for this Season 2022-2023 and the theme is "Nature".
Thu 30 Mar 2023 - Martin Davitt judging Themes "Red" & "Blue"
Tonight 30th March we have Martin Davitt from Davitt Photo Centre in Salthill judging our digitial entries of "Red" & "Blue" themes.
Thu 23 Mar 2023 - Judging by Ann Sweeney for the "Panel" competition
Tonight we have the first judging of this new "Panel" competition. We are delighted to have Ann Sweeney judging this with a beautiful new perpetual Sweeney trophy to be won.
Connemara print enteries are due in tonight.
Thu 16 Mar 2023 - Tutorials on Lightroom/Affinity & Slideshow
Due to cancellation of the 9th because of adverse weather conditions, we will have basic tutorials on Lightroom/Affinity and a slideshow on this Thursday the 16th, with Ann Sweeney moving to judge the "panel" competition to the 23rd and Martin Davitt moving to the 30th for the judging of the "Red" & "Blue" themes.
Entries for the "Panel" competition are due tonight.
Thu 9 Mar 2023 - John Kelly - Photographic Journalist - Entries for Competitions
Delighted to welcome John Kelly - a photographic journalist to the Galway Camera Club. This will be a varied discussion on photography and also John's display of his work in journalism.
Entries for the "Red" & "Blue" themed competition are due in on by Sunday the 12th and the print entries for the annual Connemara competition are due in on the 23rd March.

Tutorial Night so dont forget to bring along those cameras, with fully charged batteries etc.
Also entries for the print "Panel" competition are due on Thursday the 9th March, with judging for same on the 16th. Digital entries for the separate themes of Red & Blue due in by the 12th March, with judging for these on the 23rd March. On the 23rd March entries for the Connemara print are due. So a busy month ahead!

Galway Camera Club are very grateful to Whelans of Limerick who will be judging this competition and will also give an update on mirrorless cameras. Definitely of interest to anyone thinking of upgrading.

Thu 9 Feb 2023 - Club Night - Menlo Park Hotel 7.30pm Thursday 9th February
The Camera Club night out is this Thursday the 9th February and will be held in the Menlo Park Hotel @ 7.30pm. We are having a fun quiz night, so start brushing up on some photography questions etc., Prizes for the winning table and the club is sponsoring the platters on the night. We would really like to see as many as possible there, as this will be the first night out the club has been able to have in a few years - so do please come along and enjoy the night getting to know new members etc.
