Below is an email received from the National Parks and Wildlife Service to the Irish Photographic Federation for information purposes and circulation to all members.  Please read and take note that it is a "legal requirement" to have a photography license to photograph in such situations.

Hello,

I am a Conservation Ranger with NPWS for SE Wexford. I was on Saltee today and most photographers were not aware that they needed a Photography License from NPWS to photograph birds on or near the nest. All were glad to be informed and were happy and willing to apply going forward. The majority of photographers were members of camera clubs from all around Ireland and I presume affiliated to the Irish Photographic Federation. It would be great if the IPF could put some info with the link below on their website and make affiliated camera clubs aware of this legal requirement? And if the camera clubs could put this information on their club website and make their club members aware, that would be a great way to inform photographers.
