Galway Camera Club is delighted to have John Hooton opening the 2024 season by zoom, this coming Thursday the 11th. The zoom link has been sent to all paid up members via member's email. John Hooton is no stranger to Galway Camera Club so please go to the Irish Photographic Federation/John Hooton, to see some of his photographic achievements - way too many to list here. John is from Dingle, is a member of Mallow Camera Club, has published some beautiful photographic books and runs photography classes in the Dingle area. So yes this is a zoom not to be missed.
Reminder that entries for the digital Competition "Autumn" are due in this week, midnight Sunday 14th with judging by Darach Glennon on the 25th.
On another note we are having an outing this coming Saturday the 13th, with Tom Cuffe, who is an experienced and knowledgeable birdwatcher and volunteer with Birdwatch Ireland/Galway. He regularly guides enthusiasts around Galway Bay on birdwatching outings. This outing along Nimmo’s pier, South Park and as far as the Mutton Island causeway is especially for Galway Camera Club members. Tom will share his extensive knowledge of native Irish birds, where to spot them and how to photograph them.
