Thank you very much to all the club members who did such a great job in introducing and talking about their pictures last night - we are soo lucky to have such diversity in our club and it made for a great display of talent in the club. Thanks guys and think, going forward, this could turn into an annual event!
Next Thursday 24th February we welcome Denis O'Reilly our next guest speaker and his passion is flower photography - appropriate for the coming Spring (Hopefully!). Below is some information from Denis about Denis.
I took up photography in preparation for my retirement in 2013. My photography is based on my interest in gardening and art.
My flower photography has allowed me to combine two of my great passions – flower gardening and photography. My subjects are mainly from my own garden and I have grown many of them from seed. The flowers are presented in a variety of colours, shapes, and form which give each flower its own personality.
I use textures in post processing to enhance and complement each flower and this allows me to express the creative artist within. I was awarded my LIPF in 2018 for a panel of Still Life photos and in 2019 I received my AIPF for a panel of Fine Art Flowers.
