Congratulations to  the winners in both beginners and advanced sections of the Photographer of the Year for the 2023-2024 Season and also congratulations to all winners throughout the year. A special congratulations to Heinz Rohleder, winner of the Beginners Section of The Photographer of the Year, with John Kelly being awarded "Most Improved Beginner"and to Tom Quinn winner of the Photographer of the Year in the Advanced Section. The Chair's award went to Kay Synott, coming 3rd in the ranking of Advanced in her 1st year in this category was itself an achievement, but it was felt that her enthusiasm and passion for her photography, the energy and vitality that she brought to the club should be recognised.

Tom Quinn, Competitions secretary, showed a power point presentation of the competitions and the winners in their categories throughout the season.  He also showed the listing of photography opportunities in the area in the coming months and where to find them on this website. Themes for the next season 2024-2025 were also announced.

Kay Synott, Secretary, gave a lovely presentation on the guest speakers/judges that we had throughout this season and what topics they covered.  The club's outings were also remembered with some great photos. It was a good reminder of the large range of topics covered and fun to be had on outings.

Patricia Donohue, Chair, gave a synopsis of what happened in the club in the last season and also what plans are being put into action for the 2024-2025 season.  Apologies were given for Ann Sweeney, who was unable to attend and Patricia Donohue gave the Treasurer's report. Election of the committee took place, with Kay Synott stepping down and it was agreed that the remaining committee collectively would be re-elected as stands. We welcome the election of John Considine onto the committee.

On behalf of the committee I would like to thank members for their help and kind words througout the season. Here's to a great Summer, full of photographic opportunities and good weather! Do keep an eye on the member's wattsapp for information on outings - the first of which is coming up on Saturday the 18th May.
