Inchagoill Island was indeed a hidden gem

Members of the Galway Camera Club had a great day out, in georgous weather I might add, when exploring on Lough Corrib, the hidden gem that is Inchagoill Island. We had a wonderfull guide both on board the "Corrib Cruise" and while on Inchagoill Island.  He was both extremely entertaining and informative which made for a very pleasant crossing. We then headed to the beautiful Ashford Castle where a coffee was enjoyed in fabulous sunshine before exploring the magnificent gounds while some strolled into Cong village. In Ashford Castle gounds there were plenty of photographic opportunities, manicured gardens, fountains, equestrian, wildlife and the fisherman who couldnt exaggerate the size, as we had the photographic evidence! We even got to see a proposal being proposed and accepted! What a beautiful place to get down on one knee!

Back to Oughterard for a bite to eat and it just kept getting better, as we got to see the final minute of Galway's win over Dublin! Some pictures from the day are below.

A different type of day out is on the calendar for the next club outing this Summer and it is proposed to go to Sligo Air Show on Sunday the 28th July, so mark it in your calendar. Details will follow on the club member's wattsapp.
