Thanks to everyone who tuned into the AGM last Thursday - it was a great attendance. The Secretary and the Treasurer gave their reports and the Chair spoke about the year gone by and gave some of the themes for coming competitions in the Season 2022-2023, so that members can keep busy during the Summer when taking those photos. The election of the new committee took place and all committee members were re-elected apart from the resignation of the Secretary Claire McGuire who will be sorely missed as was expressed on the night. Two new members were elected onto the committee - Gabriel Cloonan and Neil Cronin. Welcome onboard guys!
The "Image of the Year" in each category was announced and the results of same, includng the winning photographs, can be viewed under the heading on this website "Results".
Winners were: Novice Black & White - Gabriel Cloonan, Advanced Black & White - Patricia Donohue, Novice Color - Ryan Mulvanny, Advanced Color - David McGowan. Brenda Molloy was given the award for Beginner of the Year and Anthony Mollahan was given the award of Most Improved Beginner of the Year. Congratulations to all above on the production of great images that were judged by Martin Davitt from Davitt Photo Centre Salthill whom we would like to thank for his time in doing so. It is hoped that we will be able to present all winners in person with their awards in the coming 2022-2023 Season.
Members were told to keep an eye on the member's wattsapp group for information on Summer outings and also on the website and facebook for more general information regarding the restart etc of the club in September.
The committee would like to take this opportunity of thanking all members of the Galway Camera Club for their kind and generous comments and understanding during the last year and when, sometimes the zoom was n0t as good as it should be, but we always got there in the end. Just looking back over the programme, it has been a great year of amazing guest speakers, judges and tutorials and all on zoom - it has its advantages, so we have discovered.
Enjoy your Summer getting out there and taking photos, in rain or sunshine and make sure to keep an eye out for those communications. Thanks again everyone for helping to keep this club as good as it is.
