Congratulations to Ger Kavanagh on his winning photograph in the Brian Callagy print competition and to Michael Gough and Marty Whyte on coming 2nd & 3rd. Their winning photos are in the "Results" Gallery. We had a wonderful number of entries, so well done to all and a huge thank you to Sheldon Long for his wonderful critique on each print. It was much appreciated the trouble Sheldon went to and also for showing what a difference printing on different types and quality of paper can make to the end result. Thank you Sheldon, it was a pleasure having you as a judge in the club.

Please remember to enter your digital entries for the "Out on the Street" competition by this Sunday 26th. We will be having Steve Scott from Athenry judging this competition on the 7th December, so don't not enter!

Galway Camera Club is really thrilled to welcome back Prof Zhang, this time in person, with his presentation titled “Science behind Moon and Auroa Photography” - below is a little information on Prof Zhang's academic career, but we will be looking forward to seeing his artistic side next Thursday.

Prof. Zhang is Professor of Geography, Vice-Dean for Research of College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies, Director of International Network for Environment and Health (INEH) at University of Galway, and a member of Academic Council Standing Committee of the University.
